Seasonal Celebrations
Our Autumn Candle Lantern Trail Walk is one of our favourite events. Students make beautiful candle lanterns in advance of this event. An all-school potluck is held at the Fanny Bay Hall; the food is always amazing! The feast is followed by an evening walk along the Fanny Bay dyke, overlooking the ocean.
Many cultures and religions celebrate a festival of lights at the darkest time of the year. Beachcombers celebrates the winter solstice with a lighting of candles and a performance by students. This is a lovely event.
A spring celebration is sometimes held on a spring afternoon at the school, depending on the school schedule. In the past it has included a picnic and dance around the Maypole.
Our graduation and end of year celebration is always a heart-felt event with presentations and a wonderful potluck at the school. The Beachcombers’ community pours out onto the school's decks and students play in the playground overlooking the ocean.
